Boundless Angling Opportunities

Awesome trophy size fish is the main reason that people come to Milton Lake Lodge and the outposts. Premium boats, professional guides and quality fishing gear add to that attraction.

For all of our lakes, keeping fishing pressure to a minimum is a top priority, including good conservation such as catch and release, as well as only using barbless hooks. These practices will allow the fishery to not only remain vibrant as it is today, but also to consistently improve throughout the upcoming years.

With the purchase of our Air Rider Ranger 45 Hovercraft we have substantially expanded our fishing range to previously inaccessible water. These new waters have never been fished! Come join us and be one of the privileged few to fish these new areas!

Come Tackle Our Monstrous Trophy Northern Pike

The deep fertile waters of Northern Saskatchewan support huge populations of fatty fish, like ciscoes, whitefish and smelt. This is the reason our lake trout are so big and fat! The same can be said for our northern pike who stalk these big schools of fish all season long. Feasting on these pelagic course fish produces some of the largest and fattest northern pike in North America!

Did We Say BIG!?!?!

These prehistoric looking behemoth lake trout lurk the deep cold waters in our lakes. But during the cooler months  they migrate to the shallows to feed. The largest lake trout caught at Milton Lake Lodge came in at 50lbs!

That is a massive fish and is likely to be over 40 years old! The chance at landing a 20+ lb trophy lake trout is definitely a real possibility here at Milton Lake. Lake trout can be caught trolling, casting or by vertically jigging and makes for a great day of sport fishing.

Sailfish of the North

The Arctic Grayling inhabits the clear, cold glacial rivers found throughout Northwestern Canada and Alaska. These spectacular fish have a distinct prismatic iridescence and a large pronounced dorsal fin reminiscent of a tropical fish.

Primarily an insectivore, the arctic grayling is the perfect target for the avid fly fisherman. Anglers target these fish using methods similar to those used for brook trout. The Porcupine River flows in and out of Milton Lake at the north end and holds an abundance of these unique sportsfish.

Unspoiled Waters

All of our waters have had very minimal fishing pressure in their history. The main lodge has only operated for 10 short seasons, before this the waters were virtually untouched by anglers and some of our lakes have never yet even been test fished! This allows for an abundance of trophy sized fish in our crystal clear waters.

On a recent trip one of our guests even landed a 22 lb lake trout while standing on the dock waiting to go out in the morning! No long boat rides are needed for excellent angling of northern pike, lake trout or arctic grayling. We ensure great fishing for future generations by practicing catch and release with safe handling procedures, being conservation wise, and appreciating the environment that surrounds us.
