TO BOOK YOUR TRIP

Absolute Freedom

Flying in to your own private and secluded lake is an adventure every avid angler needs to experience. Left on your own, you follow your own schedule and make your own plans. Fishing will be about instinct and prior experience.

You are your own guide. A challenge every dedicated angler and hunter can appreciate. Nothing is more gratifying than deciphering a lake’s fishing patterns and understanding how to adjust to the local weather conditions to be successful.

If this is the type of angling experience you hope for, Misekumaw Lake is worth serious consideration. The lake offers trophy angling for Lake Trout, Northern Pike and Arctic Grayling. A true anglers paradise.

Comfortable Cabins

Misekumaw Lake has a self sufficient Outpost camp for up to 11 guests. There are four cabins tucked into the woods behind a beautiful sandy beach. A common central cabin provides a fully equipped kitchen, dining and living area with a wood stove. While the remaining 3 cabins are sleeping quarters with 11 single beds. Behind the cabins are two shower rooms with running hot water and a bathroom with a flush toilet.

The Camp Attendant Will Manage Your Boats

Misekumaw Lake covers the largest area of all our lakes at 13km long and 6km wide. This scenic lake has many sand beaches, islands and sand eskers along the shores.

This is an excellent trophy pike lake with many spawning areas in the shallow waters on the east side. Misekumaw also holds lake trout and arctic grayling can be found in the river.

During inclement weather you can choose from the three bays that surround the cabins and fish right off shore. Many trophy pike have been caught in these three bays. The boats are on the beach in front of the cabins and ready to go.

At this camp you are completely on your own schedule. You bring your own food, fishing gear and clean and provide for yourselves. The camp attendant will give you a detailed orientation of the lake and maintain your boat. Arrangements can be made ahead of time for the purchase and delivery of your food and beverages.

Come Tackle Our Monstrous Trophy Northern Pike

The deep fertile waters of Northern Saskatchewan support huge populations of fatty fish, like ciscoes, whitefish and smelt. This is the reason our lake trout are so big and fat! The same can be said for our northern pike who stalk these big schools of fish all season long. Feasting on these pelagic course fish produces some of the largest and fattest northern pike in North America!

Excellent Lake Trout

These prehistoric looking behemoth lake trout lurk the deep cold waters in our lakes. But during the cooler months  they migrate to the shallows to feed. While Misekumaw is renowned for it’s pike there are good populations of lake trout to be caught as well!

Lake trout can be caught trolling, casting or by vertically jigging and makes for a great day of sport fishing.

Sailfish of the North

The Arctic Grayling inhabits the clear, cold glacial rivers found throughout Northwestern Canada and Alaska. These spectacular fish have a distinct prismatic iridescence and a large pronounced dorsal fin reminiscent of a tropical fish.

Primarily an insectivore, the arctic grayling is the perfect target for the avid fly fisherman. Anglers target these fish using methods similar to those used for brook trout. Misekumaw Lake is part of the Porcupine River system and holds an abundance of these unique sportsfish.

Unspoiled Waters

All of our waters have had very minimal fishing pressure in their history. We have only operated for 10 short seasons, before this the waters were virtually untouched by anglers and some of our lakes have never yet even been test fished! This allows for an abundance of trophy sized fish in our crystal clear waters.

No long boat rides are needed for excellent angling of northern pike, lake trout or arctic grayling. We ensure great fishing for future generations by practicing catch and release with safe handling procedures, being conservation wise, and appreciating the environment that surrounds us.
